Yamamoto Katsunosuke Shoten Small Broom

Regular price $42.00 Sale

A handful of natural fibers, a length of bamboo, and a craft passed down through generations.

In Wakayama, Japan, Yamamoto Katsunosuke Shoten has been making traditional brooms since 1880. Each one begins with hemp palm fibers, gathered and bound by hand with copper wire around a simple bamboo handle.

The result is a beautifully uncomplicated tool, made for the small corners of everyday life.

The palm fibers are naturally flexible yet durable, reaching into narrow spaces, along shelves, and into the little places where dust likes to settle. The bamboo handle feels light and comfortable in the hand, while the copper bindings bring a quiet warmth to its natural texture.

There is something deeply satisfying about using a tool made this way. No plastic, no unnecessary parts. Just the strength of plant fibers, the warmth of bamboo, and the steady work of skilled hands.

And when the sweeping is done, this little broom is handsome enough to hang on the wall, its earthy fibers and copper details becoming part of the room.

Made to work. Made to last. Beautiful enough to leave out.
