Yuko Kiln is located in the mountains of Kitakyushu City. The second generation owner of Yuko Kiln (or Yukogama), Masashi Abe studied under Mr. Kōichi Takita and his father Yuko Abe. After participating in a project to restore pottery and celadon bowls excavated from ruins and experiencing the charm of Old Imari, he switched from pottery to porcelain. His works mainly consist of using white porcelain from the Yi Dynasty and Ko-Imari period, but he also uses colored porcelain, and various glazes.
